POSIE-2 : Listening to children and parents with lived experience
The POSIE-2 study aims to explore what it is like for children and their primary carers to lose an important adulton the intensive care unit - as seen through the eyes of both the child and their primary carer.
By listening to children and parents, we aim to:
👥 Explore what children and their parents find most helpful when faced with the loss of an important adult on the ICU - what truly matters to them during this time.
👥 Give voice to the emotional impact of ICU bereavement on children, by listening to their experiences and those of their parents.
👥 Use these real-life insights to shape professionalrecommendations, staff training, and support systems - so that adult ICU teams feel equipped and supported to meet the needs of grieving children and the parents caring for them.
We plan to launch the POSIE-2 study following the completion of POSIE-1. More information will be shared as the study gets underway. Thank you for your interest and support.
